With the recent launch of his eponymous designer men’s collection, Jeffrey Rüdes, this will be the first retail store in the US to showcase his new concept of designer luxury men’s wear.
The store design concept was conceived by Jeff Rudes and interior designer SteedHale, principal of Interior Design & Company Inc., who worked with architect Michael Fahey of Fahey Design Build and Shimstone Design Studio for lighting. The store focuses on clean lines to create a luxurious space that is both modern and sophisticated.
The SoHo location occupies the ground and lower level of a beautifully renovated and restored red brick and iron-columned façade in a turn of the century historic building on a cobblestone street. The retail store covers 3,200 square feet of the ground floor with an additional 2,500 square foot lower level.
The boutique was carefully designed and constructed using the finest materials, including Calacatta Gold Borghini marble floors that were hand-selected from Italy, large panels of hand-polished French lacquer walls in stark white, crowned with Makassar Ebony wood and marked by chrome details with perimeter lighting.
An extensive 9x12foot video wall completes the entry space on the right, while polished chrome wall-mounted racks display the collection on the left.
At the rear, a “living” area creates a relaxing and exclusive experience with a sectional sofa, coffee tables and a Makassar bookcase. A chrome staircase with a 30-foot backlit bookcase leads to the lower level, offering another lounge area, VIP room, and the stockroom.
The resulting spaces offer an understated elegant and contemporary setting for astute clients to discover the Jeffrey Rüdes collection.
“I wanted to create a modern space that enhanced the aesthetic of the clothes,” says Jeff Rudes on the design. “The store is the backdrop for the clothes themselves, offering the highest standards in quality and construction in men’s wear, and defining the essential pieces needed in every modern man’s wardrobe.”
